July Newsletter

This is the letter sent to all the members with their statements:

Summer is in full swing at HRC! The pool is bright and sparkling and the road is smooth…life is good! I hope you get to take full advantage of all HRC has to offer during this summer. Here are a few highlights for July.

The pool is open for business! Hours are 11-7 every day of the week. Full members get to use the pool as part of their membership, fitness/SilverSneakers/Silver&Fit members can purchase a pool add-on for $75 individual or $99 couple/family. There are week and daily rates for non-members or visiting relatives. We also have a summer promotion for new members that get a fitness membership and a pool add-on for the summer for $125 individual or $199 couple/family. Check out the website for more information.

Group fitness area has several items of note. First of all, we installed two portable AC units and two new fans to help when the weather is hot and the room is packed. Thanks for your patience in getting those installed. Secondly, John Dietz and his ballroom dancing and shag classes on Thursday just finished a successful first session and is taking signups for the second session that starts up 7/14. Sign-up today! Sharon’s Tai Chi classes continue through the summer Saturday’s at 10:45 am. We have been hearing rave reviews and hope you try the class out soon.

New for July, we have international Zumba presenter LaRonda starting two new classes, one at 7:30 am on Monday’s and another Wednesday nights at 5:30 pm. Come out for this great workout! The charge will $5 for members and $7 for non-members, but THE FIRST CLASS IS FREE FOR MEMBERS!!! You have nothing to lose…try it out tonight or Monday morning!

As far as socials go, we have several events going on. Friday the 1st, 15th and 29th we have Drillin’ and Grillin’ with Dylan 6-9 pm. You can do the tennis portion or you can just bring your meat/protein, drinks and a side dish, use our grill on the back deck and enjoy the fellowship and watch the tennis! Also, there is a pool social Saturday, August 6th, 4-7 pm. It’s a potluck pool party. More details to come.

We are planning a doubles tennis tournament for July 30-31. Details will be out this weekend.

Our first two weeks of tennis summer camp were a success!  Dylan and high school helpers Tyler, Josh, Annabelle, Jarod and Elle creating a fun experience for the campers and we kept them well feed, hydrated with lots of activities each day.  The second week we had more than half of the half-day campers switch to full day after begging their parents to stay longer each day!  Next two camps are 7/18-22 and 7/25-29.

As far as projects go, we of course just finished two big ones with the pool and repaving. This week we are just finishing up power washing the indoor tennis courts, doing maintenance work on the turf field and fixing the garage doors. Next is to do some repair & maintenance work in the weight room, trim back vegetation and work on the outdoor hard courts. We continue on with our internal motto of “a little better each day.”

Thanks for all your support and please spread the word that HRC is the place to be this summer!

Chris, Cindy and crew
