But first, a much needed workshop open to all members…

Decluttering Now for a Better Quality of Life Now and Later workshop will be held March 9th at 11:45 am in the group fitness room.  With the arrival of spring many of us are looking ahead to all of the spring cleaning and de-cluttering we need to tackle.  We have the wonderful opportunity of having an expert in this area, Jill Hart, to help us out.

Studies have shown that mental well-being increases longevity.  Do the stresses and obligations of maintaining your “stuff” hold you back from a better quality of life?  Join Jill Hart as she discusses the benefits and process of decluttering.  You will be inspired to get to work right away so you can enjoy life to the fullest.  This seminar is free.

NEW Mug & Wine Glass Program

Starting mid to late March, in order to be better stewards of our environment, HRC will no longer be providing paper cups for coffee, water and wine.  Instead, coffee mugs trees will be at each of the coffee stations.  Use a mug or a wine glass and return to our busing bins for washing.  If you have old mugs or wine glasses you would like to donate to our effort, please drop them by with Briana.

CLUB UPGRADES

This winter we had several outdoor projects that have been delayed because of the unending cycle of wet weather we have been having.  We are currently finishing up the areas between and beside the lower and upper clay courts.  We won’t be able to do all we wanted before the outdoor season, but it will look nice!

Preparations have started for the outdoor clay season.  This month will be a busy one for that (as mentioned above in the newsletter).

Down on the pond courts we have pulled up the Flex court.  During the next couple of weeks we will be power washing the courts, prepping the cracks and doing the crack filling in preparation for the resurfacing that is planned for April.  The goal is to put in four permanent pickleball courts and a basketball hoop.  For now, the Flex Court tennis court will remain as is.

The fitness center had a TV installed in the group fitness room.  We also replaced the covers on the LifeFitness elliptical.  In the next week, we will be replacing the bearings on two of the ellipticals and replacing some grips and cables.

On the LED upgrade/retrofit front, the rec room/racquetball area is our next and final phase of the project!  The lighting levels should be the same or greater than you are enjoying now!

Some technology upgrades are also in the planning stages now for the fitness area.

….thanks for being a part of the HRC family.  If you need anything or have any comments/questions, please don’t hesitate to ask any of our staff.  It’s a busy time at the club.  Be sure to take advantage of it!  Let’s all keep active and see you at the club!

Sincerely,
Chris, Cindy and staff

  1. Thinking , again, of leaving the Hendersonville Country Club and returning to HCC. I was a member years ago. Since I do not get the club member emails, could you update me on the status of using the outdoor courts with the COVID-19 guideline. Are all courts out of action?
    Tell Bobby I said ‘Hi’.
